The 36th Ogikubo Music Festival Ogikubo Festival Orchestra Special Concert 2023

The orchestra was founded in November 2015, when it performed at the Ogikubo Music Festival. Under the vision of "local community with music at its core," it aims to create an orchestra with rich "Ogikubo colors" that everyone involved in the orchestra can enjoy.
This time, following the opening of the 15th concert with the overture to Borodin's opera "Prince Igor", we will welcome Ms. Ritsuko Arima, who performed with the orchestra in the 13th concert and has appeared in the Ogikubo Music Festival Exchange Concert before, for a program full of harp music.
Saint-Saens' Concert Pieces op.154, featuring Ms. Arima's solo and orchestra, is one of the masterpieces for harp that shows the composer's desire for simplicity of sound in his last years. Please enjoy Ms. Arima's clear and transparent tone.
The second half of the concert will feature orchestral pieces in which the harp plays an active role. Tchaikovsky's suite "Swan Lake" has a harp showcase at the beginning of the fourth piece, and Bizet's second suite from "L'Arles" will enchant you with its famous minuet, accompanied by flute.
