This performance marks the 50th anniversary of the group and the 25th of the "Young Performers Series". Therefore, two concertos will be featured in this year's program.
The soloists will be cello player Sachiharu Matsumoto of Tokyo University of the Arts and piano player Miki Yamagata of Tokyo University of the Arts, both of whom have performed with the orchestra many times in the past, performing Schumann's Cello Concerto and Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2.
