Boston Pops on the Tour 2023 Unofficial

The Boston Pops will make their first visit to Japan in 20 years this fall. Following the recently announced "Boston Pops on the Tour 2023: A John Williams Tribute Japan Tour" at Tokyo International Forum Hall A from October 6 (Fri.) to 8 (Sun.), 2023, the band will perform at Festival Hall in Osaka on October 12 (Thu.) and 13 (Fri.). The Boston Pops is a group of musicians who have been performing in Japan since 1885.
The Boston Pops is a prestigious American pops orchestra founded in 1885, and is known for John Williams, composer of film music such as "E.T." and "Star Wars," who was the orchestra's permanent conductor from 1980 to 1993. This will be the first time in 20 years, since 2003, that they will perform in Japan.
On Thursday, October 12, they will perform "John Williams Tribute," which was first performed at Boston Symphony Hall in September, with guest violinist Momone Hattori. On Friday the 13th, "Star Wars: The Story in Music," which premiered at the Tanglewood Music Festival in August, will be performed. Both of these new programs will be presented for the first time in Japan at the Tokyo International Forum Hall A starting Friday, October 6. A large screen will be set up behind the orchestra to allow the audience to enjoy commentary on each piece, a new twist on the program.
John Williams will not be able to conduct the Boston Pops on this Japan tour due to his advanced age (91), but Keith Lockhart, who has led the Boston Pops since 1995, will conduct the orchestra. The world's finest performance will be combined with collaborations with a variety of guests who adore the Boston Pops.
