Kyoto Arti String Quartet

The Kyoto Arti String Quartet was formed in Kyoto in 1998 by four leading soloists: violinists Yasutsugu Toyoshima and Tatsuya Yabe, violist Yoshiko Kawamoto, and cellist Noboru Kamimura.
The quartet's repertoire consists mainly of string quartets by Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, and Dvorak, and the quartet's main characteristic is that the first and second violins are interchanged depending on the piece, which is a testament to their high level of ability.
It is extremely difficult to develop a coherent performance of a string quartet, which is the core of chamber music, while working as soloists, but the four members uniformly possess a stable technique and assert themselves while maintaining precision, and their musical expression is full of delicacy and nuance. Since its formation, the quartet has matured more and more and become one of Japan's top string quartets in both name and reality.
