Mizuki Aida (Vibraphone/percussionist, composer)
Born in 1988 in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Mizuki Aida is a percussionist/vibraphonist who has been known as a "premiere magician" and has premiered more than 300 new works since his debut in 2010 when he won the second prize at the Japan Contemporary Music Society's "Competitive Music IX" competition. He has been awarded the "JFC Composition Prize" in 2019, the "LMIC Special Prize" at the St. Christopher's International Composition Competition in Lithuania in 2021, and his first solo exhibition of his own compositions will be held in February 2022. The album won the 59th Record Academy Award, the best disc of the year. He received the Osaka Cultural Festival Encouragement Award in 2020 and the Miyagi Prefecture Art Encouragement Award for New Artists in 2021 for his efforts in introducing the appeal of vibraphone and contemporary works in a variety of genres.
