Ancient English Music in a Cafe

Enjoy Renaissance and Baroque music with ancient instruments. The atmospheric sounds of the recorder, a familiar instrument, and the spinet (a small harpsichord), a baroque piece that is also played on the piano. Please relax and enjoy in the open-air café.

Musica Mentis was formed in 2014, and after several years, in 2023 will resume active performances at the Yamanote Arts Festival in February at the British Pavilion, Chigasaki Room Number 3 in June, Kokubunji in Tokyo in September, and in Toyama in November.

Scarborough Fair, which is old English music (Shakespeare songs such as "Song of the Willows," Bird and Purcell's "Beautiful Island" 400 years after his death, Scottish folk songs, and Handel's trio sonata) utilizing the spinet from the English living room, and also dancing masters old folk songs that contained hundreds of dance tunes, A Thousand Grass in the Garden is also available on an old instrument.
A small harpsichord spinet is brought to the cafe for this concert. Noriko Yamaguchi's spinet solo is also superb. Please also enjoy the soft sounds of the recorder ensemble and baroque guitar with easy-to-understand explanations.
The concert will be held at the café on the first floor, which has a pleasant glass wall and the beautiful greenery of the adjacent park!
