The pleasure of listening to German lieder on fortepiano "Adelaide

Beethoven and Schubert lived in the city of Vienna from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century. In this performance, fortepianoist Naoki Ueo and I will focus on the fresh song works written in the early and middle periods of each of these two composers.
The fortepiano to be used is a replica of a model made by Anton Walter (circa 1795) (manufactured by Toshiya Nogami, 2005).
Beethoven's songs "Adelaide" and "The Quail's Cry" can be called small cantatas, but Schubert also composed music to these same poems, and it is interesting to compare the two. Schubert's well-known songs include "Grätchen Spinning Threads" and "Trout," as well as four songs from his Op. 8, D702, D516, D586, and D539, which were published in 1822. These works are rarely performed, but Schubert's lyricism shines through in these masterpieces, which are in keeping with the poetry of Maierhofer and others.
In addition, Ms. Ueo's solo performance of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" is a must-see!
