The "Salabarde Consort" is a new ensemble that combines these two instruments with the harpsichord, and takes its name from the 17th century dulcian player Selma i Salabarde, who was praised as the "Orpheus of the heavens.
The first performance of the Consort will take us on a journey through more than 100 years of the extraordinary musical culture that was nurtured in Venice, Italy, starting with Selma. Please come and listen to the sound of "wood" as bright and clear as a breath from heaven.
