Kunitachi Citizens' Orchestra 45th Regular Concert

The 2023 subscription concert will feature Akihiro Nakajima as conductor, their third collaboration after the New Year's Concert and Family Concert in the 2022 season.
The first half of the 45th subscription concert will feature Wagner's Overture, which is one of the Kunioke's strong points, and Poulenc's ballet "The Mare," which will be the orchestra's first attempt at a ballet. In the second half, we will perform Dvorak's Symphony No. 7.
All members of the orchestra look forward to seeing you at the concert.


◎What you will hear this time
Overture to the opera "Rienzi"...A work from Wagner's youth, this overture is majestic and full of exuberance. The overture is full of solemnity and exuberance. The thick sound and prayerful melody are Kuni orchestra's strong points.

Ballet Suite "The Fawn"...In France, where ballet originated, a lot of ballet music was composed, and this piece is rich in familiar character and has a modern French esprit.
Please enjoy the difference in "musical nationality" from Wagner (Germany) as well.

Symphony No. 7" is known as one of Dvořák's most elaborate symphonies. We aim to express colors that are completely different from those of the first half, "smoky but with a certain inner passion".
