This project aims to realize a recording of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto performed by world-renowned violinist Gérard Poulet, who at the age of 84 is still active as a violinist and has released 67 CDs to date. However, he has yet to record the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, which is considered one of the three greatest violin concertos of all time.
Mr. Poulet's technique has been called the orthodox school of violin playing, and his contribution to the music world is immeasurable. Through this project, we aim to record his performance of the Mendelssohn concerto and make it a part of music history.
The recording will take place at the Toyota City Concert Hall on August 10 and 11, 2023. (Public recording will be made only on the 11th)
The orchestra will be the TOKAI Friends Chamber Orchestra, composed of members who hail from or are related to the Tokai region.
The orchestra will be conducted by violinist and the 10th President of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Dr. Kazuki Sawa.
We will perform Mr. Poole's Mendelssohn with the desire to leave it on a page of music history and to deliver it to all of Japan and the world.
For this public recording, we are selling tickets in the form of crowdfunding ( ) . In addition to tickets to the public recording, we are also offering several other plans such as CDs with Mr. Poulet's autograph, tickets to the rehearsal, etc., which are exclusive to this project. We sincerely look forward to your support.
