Founded in 1992 by former members of the St. Thomas Boys Choir in Leipzig. Since then, the ensemble has continued to perform as one of the world's leading vocal ensembles. The ensemble is characterized not only by its unique tone, breathtaking homogeneity, and musical authenticity, but also by its overflowing charm and humor. The repertoire is vast and diverse, ranging from medieval monophonic chants, madrigals, and Renaissance masses to European Romantic and 20th century works, arrangements of a cappella folk songs from around the world, and even soul music and jazz.

Along with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and the St. Thomas Boys Choir, they are representative of the Leipzig music scene, both in Germany and abroad. His numerous concert tours have taken him to more than 50 countries and he has performed in almost every corner of the world.

Amarcord's concert program is primarily a cappella, but he has also performed with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Lautten Compagney (Berlin's ancient instrument ensemble), the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, bandoneon virtuoso Per Arne Grolvigen, viola da gamba virtuoso He also performs regularly with various ensembles and artists, such as the virtuoso bandoneonist Per Arne Grohlvigen and the viola da gamba virtuoso Hill Pär.

She has received numerous awards, including prizes at international competitions such as Tolosa in Spain, Tampere in Finland, and Pohlheim in Germany; in 2000, she won the first Choral Olympiad in Linz, Austria; in 2002, she won the German Music Competition and was awarded the BA KJK (German Music In 2004, they became the first vocal group to win the Ensemble Prize at the Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festival. In addition to competitions, the group has received valuable inspiration over the years by participating in master classes with the King's Singers and the Hilliard Ensemble.
The group has also released numerous CDs, leaving a diverse repertoire and winning numerous awards.
