ARK Special Concert

Nobuyuki Tsuji󠄀i will perform for the first time in concert the beautiful masterpieces by two of Japan's most popular and world-renowned composers, Joe Hisaishi and Ryuichi Sakamoto! In the second half, Sergei Nakariakov, the world's greatest trumpet player, will perform a concerto written for him by Wittmann, the most remarkable composer in the West, which requires the most superb trumpet technique in history! You can experience live performance of this unprecedented concerto, which only Sergei Nakariakov, who makes full use of circular breathing*, can perform.
*Cyclical breathing: A special performance method in which the player continues to play using air held in the mouth while taking breaths through the nose. To the listener, it sounds as if the player is playing without holding his breath. This technique is frequently required in this concerto by Wittmann, especially at the beginning of the concerto, which requires two minutes of circular breathing plus superb technique.
