Keiko Shichijo Forte Piano Recital

2023/07/30(Su.) 17:00 Starting

Japan Holiness Church Tokyo Chuo ChurchTokyo

Toward the performance
The delicacy of the fortepiano instrument, and the dynamic and frankness that can be expressed because of that delicacy, still often surprises me, even after more than 20 years of playing this instrument. At the same time, the warm charm of the middle register, like the human voice, is indescribable.
This program focuses on two sonatas by Mozart. On his way to Paris via Munich, Augsburg, and Mannheim, he met piano maker Johann Andreas Stein and his instruments. Mozart wrote a letter to his father describing his encounter with the instrument and how impressed he was with it.
The two sonatas selected for this concert were written after his encounter with Stein on his journey from Salzburg to Paris. I hope you will take this opportunity to fully enjoy the charm of the fortepiano and the blossoming of Mozart's keyboard works.
In addition, the instrument I will be using for this concert is one of the finest fortepianos I know. I am truly grateful to be able to give a concert on such an instrument.
I sincerely look forward to seeing you all in Okubo on July 30.
