On the occasion of the 15th anniversary recital
After my 10th anniversary recital back home in 2018, the most important connection I have had in the five years since then has been the fortepiano. After Mr. Akira Kubota, the instrument maker, gave me his Christofori fortepiano for the time being, I was able to encounter and learn new music all at once.
I would like to share with you again on fortepiano the music of Germany, where I have deep memories as a student for 7 years, and Portugal, a relationship I made after my study abroad. Between Germany and Portugal, I will play a contemporary piece by my friend and composer Hideyasu Endo.
In the lobby of the venue, we will exhibit works by Koichi Eto, an oil painter who traveled to Germany and Portugal during his creative stay in Spain, through a connection with the same university. We hope to express our own "connection of 15 years" with the sounds of the fortepiano on the stage and the wonderful paintings in the lobby, as well as our journey to Germany and Portugal, using the entire venue.
We hope to celebrate this milestone with you on a weekday evening. Also, Mr. Akira Kubota, the maker of the Cristofori fortepiano that was entrusted to us, will be present at the event.
