Varietas delectat"... "varietas" means "variety" and "delectat" means "to delight. The title of this 12-session series was chosen from Cicero's words, "Variety brings joy.
By featuring a variety of works on the flute instrument, we wanted to "explore all the possibilities of the flute and look into another face of the flute that is not in the original compositions.
The first series of six recitals featured "Bach: Suite for Unaccompanied Cello. In the second series, "Bach: Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin" will be performed as the main part of each recital, one piece for each recital. This is the fourth in the series. We hope that you will enjoy the various "Varietas Delectat" for flute in this series of six recitals.
This time, we will focus on Bach's "Unaccompanied Partita No. 2," one of the longest unaccompanied violin works by Bach. Although there have been cases in which flutes have performed only the final chaconne, it is rare for flutes to perform the entire work, which is a little over 30 minutes long, and this will be a great challenge for us.
The harpsichord will be brought into the concert hall for the recital. The program will include an arrangement of the organ trio sonata and a charming piece by the Sons.
