Orchestra Sonore Nagano

The 40th Regular Concert

2023/06/25(su.) 14:00 Starting

HOKUTO Bunka Hall, Medium HallNagano

Official http://sonorenagano.web.fc2.com/

The 40th anniversary concert will feature the masterpieces of Nagano City's greatest composer, Kiyoshige Koyama, with his "Folk Songs," Sibelius' "Finlandia," and Schumann's Symphony No. 3 "The Rhine" as the main program.
The fact that the composer himself composed "Rustic Songs" was almost unknown, as it is said that he was commissioned by the famous xylophonist Yoichi Hiraoka to compose the piece, but discarded it for some reason.
Recently, percussionist Akiko Iino discovered the score in the composer's own handwriting, and a piano accompaniment version was premiered in 2018, but the original orchestral version will be performed for the first time in the world.
The conductor is Akira Kato, who is the only person in Sonore who is known for his Kiyoshige Koyama works.
The soloist will be Ms. Yumi Fukushima, who performed a wonderful marimba solo in the Akira Ifukube / Lauda Concertata at the 12th Regular Concert. Please look forward to it!
