What is "RINKOTON!
A percussion trio formed in October 2022 by marimba players Kazu Sugimoto and Sena Morita, and percussionist Teru Shibata.
RINKOTON!" is a coined word that combines the sparkling sound of "rin," the "koto" of marimba (xylophone), the onomatopoeic "ton" of percussion, and "ton," the pig that inspired its formation.
The band features a thick sound that one would not expect from three members, with established techniques and artistry, and by making full use of electronic pads to create sounds.
