Glar Wind Orchestra
The 42nd Regular Concert
2023/06/03(sa.) 13:30 Starting
Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall (Kanagawa)
Official https://gralwindorchestra.com/
The 42nd Regular Concert will open with "Pacific Overture" by Rinshi Matsushita. This piece, which begins with a vivid brass fanfare, carries the message "Let us always move forward toward a bright hope for the future.
The second piece in the first part will be October by E. Whitaker. Whittaker composed many works mainly for chorus, and this piece begins with a fragment-like solo on the oboe, leading to a gentle melody with a beautiful choral-like sound.
The commissioned work for this year will be "Solomon Northup" by Masanori Taruya.
Solomon Northup was an abolitionist in the mid-1800s in the United States. The piece dramatically depicts his own epic experience and the joy of the many people who were saved by his work. Please look forward to the world premiere of Solomon Northup.
The main program is O. Respighi's symphonic poem "Roman Festivals.
It is a magnificent symphonic poem in four movements that expresses the festivals that began in the world of the ancient Roman Empire and continued into the modern age. Please enjoy it with the profound sound that only the Graal Wind Orchestra can provide.
All members of the orchestra look forward to seeing you at the concert.
Children under school age are not allowed to enter the concert hall.
A welcome concert will be held from around 13:00 before the performance.
