Orchestra Moderne Tokyo

　Orchestra Moderne Tokyo brings together the best performers from amateur orchestras, and this is the 4th edition since its start in 2019. The motto of the orchestra is "to give challenging performances, incorporating modern and contemporary works, while being conscious of "moderne" (German for "modern" or "contemporary"). This time, we will perform Dvořák and Dvorak. This time, we will perform Dvorak and Prokofiev. What Dvořák of the 19th century Romanticism and Prokofiev of the 20th century Neoclassicism have in common is a strong love for their homeland. Dvořák's Eighth Symphony and Prokofiev's Twentieth Century Neoclassicism. Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 expresses his love for his native Czech Republic, while Prokofiev's Symphony No. 7 is the last symphony he wrote for the young men and women who were the future of his native Russia, as if he was trying to save his life, since at the time he had no time to compose due to his chronic illness.
