Sapporo Symphony Orchestra 654th Subscription Concert Unofficial

After winning the second prize at the 18th International Chopin Competition in 2021, Kyohei Tanda eagerly requested Rachmaninoff's Rachmaninoff No. 3, the 150th anniversary of his birth, as the first piece to be performed with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. This collaboration between Sapporo-born Kyohei Tottori and the Fuda Symphony Orchestra, led by Hirokami, whose talent is highly acclaimed, will finally come to fruition. The selections for the annual theme "Night" are Debussy's "Iberia (Night Scent)" and Ravel's "Spanish Rhapsody (Prelude to Night)". The "Images" for orchestra consists of three pieces, "Gigue," "Iberia," and "Rondo in Spring. Of these, "Iberia" consists of three chapters, including "Scent of the Night," which itself is full of the gorgeous and vivid Spanish sentiment of castanets and other percussion instruments. This is followed by the "Spanish Rhapsody," completed a year before "Iberia. Ravel's mother was from the Basque Country, and he grew up influenced by Spanish folk songs.
