Madrigale de Sidismondo Dindia

DolceAmaro 5th performance

2023/07/05(We.) 19:00 Starting

Toyosu Civic Center HallTokyo

Sidismondo Dindia (c.1580-1629), a native of Palermo, Sicily, served the Savoia family of Turin as well as Mantova and Modena. He published eight books of madrigales (some of them lost), as well as five other "music collections," especially solo and small part madrigales, in addition to barrettes and canzonettas, and is known to have written numerous attractive lamentos and solo pieces.
DolceAmaro's next performance is an all-Dindia program. They will perform not only Dindia madrigale, but also ballo, solo and duet pieces, and many other works.
Once again, we will be joined by Leonardo Takii on theorbo for the basso continuo. From recitative-style solos to concertato-style polyphonic madrigales, this is a fascinating and eccentric collection of works from the same period as Monteverdi's late madrigales. We hope to see you there!
