This project commemorates the 90th anniversary of the birth of Akira Miyoshi (1933-2013) with Kazuki Yamada, who is active internationally as the principal conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and also focuses on Japanese works and choral music. The project includes "Requiem" (1972), whose text is an anti-war poem and a suicide note written by a Kamikaze pilot; "Psalm" (1979), based on Sakon So's poetry collection "Jomon"; and "Kikomon" (1984), in which children play "Kagome Kagome" in a haunting "echo crest". In this performance, Miyoshi, who has always been anti-war in all of his creations based on his fierce war experiences as a boy, presents a series of problematic works that appeal for the repose of souls and the desire for non-war with intense sound and the cries of voiceless voices.
