Aurora Orchestra 29th Regular Concert

Since its formation, the Aurora Orchestra has been committed to a cycle of symphonies by Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky, and has completed the Rachmaninoff cycle with performances of No. 1 (2010), No. 2 (2015), No. 3 (2012), the choral symphony "Bells" (2014), and the symphonic dance (2017). The first time, in 2015, the orchestra completed the cycle. In 2023, the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff's birth, we will once again turn our attention to Rachmaninoff and present a concert featuring an all-Rachmaninoff program.
The Youth Symphony, an unfinished study from his youth, the overwhelming masterpiece "Death Island," which condenses Rachmaninoff's worldview of life and death, and a second attempt at Rachmaninoff's masterpiece, Symphony No. 2. This will be a concert that will unleash the enthusiasm and love for Rachmaninoff's music that the orchestra has fostered in its activities to date.
