Nagoya International Music Festival Opening Gala Concert Unofficial

A gala concert made possible only by our music festival.
Kentaro Kawase, who first appeared at the 37th Nagoya International Music Festival in 2014, will become the youngest music director in the history of the Meijo Philharmonic Orchestra in April 2023. This year, the lively maestro will perform "masterpieces of the highest quality" with young virtuosos as soloists.

Mayumi Kanekawa has gained attention as the fourth prize winner of the 2019 Tchaikovsky International Competition and the second prize winner of the 2018 Ron-Thibault-Crespin International Music Competition, as well as the Best Concerto Award. Her graceful and profound tone has made hardcore classical music fans roar, and she is a highly sought-after violinist who has received love calls from many conductors who would love to perform with her.

Seiya Kamei, a 21-year-old native of Ichinomiya City (at the time of the 2023 concert), skipped a grade at Toho Gakuen School of Music and won the third prize at the Maria Canals International Competition in 2022, a gateway to success for young musicians.
He was a semifinalist at the Van Cliburn International Competition and won first prize at the Ron-Thibault-Crespin International Competition (as well as the Audience Prize and the Journalist's Prize). He is a young and talented pianist who is in great demand for his concerts and recitals around the world.

This year, "Our Town Orchestra" will open the "Music Festival" with a spectacular performance.
