Handel's Recorder Sonata Daytime Performance

G.F. Handel, the Baroque master of the "Hallelujah Chorus," is well known. More lucid than Bach and more elegant than Vivaldi, Handel was very popular even in his day. The sonatas that Handel wrote for the recorder as a solo instrument are truly standard numbers for the recorder, and are a collection of masterpieces.
Many of his sonatas are standard numbers for the recorder.
Many recorder makers are active both at home and abroad. For this concert, we have selected instruments made by several different makers to suit each piece, and will perform them with the harpsichord virtuoso Marie Nishiyama.
