The West Japan Medical Student Orchestra Festival is a camp-style concert held every March mainly for medical students in western Japan, and this year will mark its 34th year.
Students studying medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and other medical fields in western Japan gather for a short but intense one-week camp with people from different university orchestras or who have never met each other before to prepare for the performance. Although it is difficult to complete a piece of music in a short period of time, we feel the joy of creating music while improving each other beyond the boundaries of universities.
Through our orchestra activities, students deepen their mutual friendship and learn not only instrumental skills but also communication and cooperation skills. We believe that these skills will surely be utilized in various situations, such as team medicine, when each of us becomes a medical professional in the future.
In addition, this year's event will be hosted by the University of Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences. This will be the first time in five years that the conference will be held in Fukuoka. With the joy of being able to inherit what our seniors have created and built up, we strongly hope that the people of Fukuoka Prefecture and western Japan will become aware of the existence and appeal of the Western Japan Medical Student Orchestra Festival through this lead organization.
We hope you will come to the venue!
