◆Profile

Yokohama Brass Orchestar is a general brass band formed in April 1999.
The group consists of about 65 members, including working people and university students.
Although the group's activities are centered in Yokohama, some members come from Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama, Ibaraki, Mie, Fukuoka, Hokkaido, and other prefectures as well as Kanagawa Prefecture.
The group has participated in the All Japan Band Competition since its inception in 1999, and has competed in the National Competition 16 times (11 times for gold, 5 times for silver) and the East Kanto Competition 20 times (all for gold).
One of the group's goals is to be closely connected to the local community, and it has actively participated in the Yokohama Port Opening Festival Brass Cruise, as well as conducting music appreciation classes at local elementary and junior high schools and performing at ceremonies.
In addition, the group has expanded its activities in many directions, including two previous recordings (CD productions) and a recording of music for the movie "Yellow Tears" in 2007.
