2023/04/01(sa.) 15:00 Starting
(Subsidized by Aoyama Music Foundation
Izumi Hosokawa studied under Nobuko Imai at the Conservatoire de Genève, and after returning to Japan, she became the principal viola player of the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra. Currently at Kyoto City University of Arts, she also devotes herself to nurturing younger students and is active in solo recitals and chamber music.
The audience will enjoy the various expressions of the viola from the Baroque, Romanticism, and contemporary music, including Telemann, Bruch, Brahms, Takemitsu Toru, and Hindemith.
Hindemith's "The Man Who Burns Swans" is one of the most famous viola pieces, full of the virtuosity and lyrical charm of the viola, but rarely performed in recital, so don't miss it!
The piano accompanist is the wonderful Fuyuka Kusa, who is Japan's best viola accompanist.
