Fumino Uemura returned to Japan in 2020 after seven years of study abroad.
She is highly acclaimed for her performances with orchestras and in chamber music in Japan and abroad.
He is a rare cellist who not only plays the modern cello, but also works on historical performance methods using period instruments, and is active on the front lines in both fields.

She began playing the cello at the age of six.
After graduating from Toho Gakuen High School for Girls (music department), she studied at Toho Gakuen School of Music and Drama, Hamburg University of Music and Drama, Kunsthochschule Basel, and Schola Kantorum Basel (ancient music department).

He won the second prize in the string section of the 5th Tokyo Music Competition. He won the first prize in the string section of the 4th Romanian International Music Competition and the Romanian Embassy Prize. Second prize at the 80th Japan Music Competition. First Prize in the University Division of the 65th All Japan Student Music Competition and the Japan Broadcasting Corporation Award. First prize at the International Music Competition in Treviso, Italy.
Received scholarships from Yamaha Music Foundation, JESC Music Foundation, Meiji Yasuda Quality of Life Overseas Music Traineeship Grant, Rohm Music Foundation, and Agency for Cultural Affairs Overseas Study Program for Emerging Artists.

He has performed with Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra (Kenichiro Kobayashi), Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra (Tatsuya Shimono), Kyoto Symphony Orchestra (Masato Suzuki), Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie (Frank Blarey), Basel Symphony Orchestra (Christoph Getshold) and others.
Performed chamber music with world-class musicians such as Ryoko Fukasawa, Futao Tokunaga, Daishin Kashimoto, etc.

Studied cello with Masaki Kumazawa, Masayo Inoue, Hakuro Mori, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Alto Nolas, Ivan Monighetti, and Sol Gavetta, chamber music with Koichiro Harada, Kazuo Tokunaga, and Quartet Excelsior, and ancient music technique with Christophe Cowan.

He was a student of the first class of the Suntory Hall Chamber Music Academy.
Founder of the old music ensemble Musica Amici.
He is also a member of the Triparti Trio (Vn Kyoko Yonemoto, Pf Yoko Kikuchi) and the Bach Collegium Japan. 2022 Hotel Okura Music Award winner.
