Conductor: Hiroyuki Takahashi
Mozart: Overture to "Don Giovanni" K.527
Schubert: Symphony No.5 in B flat major, D.485
Mendelssohn: Symphony No.4 in A major, Op.90
It is said that Mozart composed the overture to "Don Giovanni" in just one night. At the beginning of the overture, we hear the terrible sounds of the hero Don Giovanni's descent into hell, but after that the music becomes bright and light, foreshadowing the beginning of an enjoyable opera.
After the cheerful conclusion of the overture to "Don Giovanni," the mood changes with Schubert's Symphony No. 5. Composed when Schubert was 19 years old, Symphony No. 5 is a beautiful piece that is said to have been influenced by Mozart.
The last piece will be Mendelssohn's "Italia". The first movement was used in "Nodame Cantabile" and became even more famous.
The orchestra does not insert flyers in the concert program.
