World-renowned baroque violinist Ryo Terakado will perform Bach's "Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin". This will be the first time in about two years that the "second part" of the series will be performed in Fukuyama.

Ryo Terakobe
Ryo Terakobe is one of the leading baroque violinists of our time and one of the foremost exponents of Japanese classical music. Graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music. He was appointed concertmaster of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Later, he studied baroque violin with Sigiswald Kuijken at the Den Haag Conservatory in the Netherlands. He has been concertmaster of leading European and Japanese ancient music orchestras such as La Petite Bande, Les Arts Florissants, Chapelle Royal, Collegium Vocale Ghent, and Bach Collegium Japan, as well as performing as ensemble and soloist. His recording of Bach's "Complete Unaccompanied Cello Suites" using the restored instrument Violoncello da Spalla won the Recording Academy Award. He also organized the Orchestra Les Boreades and gained fame as a conductor, especially for baroque and classical operas. 2015 TonenGeneral Music Award (formerly Mobil Music Award). He is a professor at the Den Haag Conservatory of Music and the Brussels Conservatory of Music, and a specially appointed professor at Toho Gakuen School of Music. Lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
