Bruckner's Legacy All Bruckner Piano Recital

"Is there such a thing as a Bruckner solo piano piece?" Well, to our surprise, there is!
However, there are only a few small-scale pieces in existence. They are rarely performed as part of a concert repertoire by the average pianist.
However, these works were written mainly at the same time as the first drafts of Symphonies No. 00, 1, and 0. It is only in the form of solo piano performance that we can feel Bruckner's musical language of the time in the simplest and most direct way. In addition to the piano sonatas, which are strongly influenced by the classical school, we will present a group of small romantic pieces that also offer a glimpse of the elements of the macrocosm that would later be spun out.
The main program will be Symphony No. 7 in a solo piano arrangement. In the Tokyo performance, the first movement (arranged by Bruckner's pupil Hunaiss), which was well received at the previous all-Bruckner recital, will be performed again. The second movement to be performed at the Osaka concert is Bruckner's own arrangement for solo piano. The fact that this is the only time he arranged his own symphonies shows how much special feeling he put into this work.
The subtle shifts in harmony and rhythms, which are not easily heard in the grand orchestral sound, emerge clearly in this new Bru 7 performed by a single piano, and you are sure to discover something that will overturn your conventional wisdom.
