Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra 160th Regular Concert

Richard Strauss & Horn, a feast of brilliance performed by the master!

2023/01/28(Sa.) 14:00 Starting

Nakano ZERO Main HallTokyo

The 153rd subscription concert was scheduled to be held in April 2021, but Dutch master conductor Hubert Sudern, who was to take the podium for the third time, was unable to come to Japan due to the new Corona disaster. The decision was made to have Norichika Iimori, Principal Guest Conductor, take the podium in his place (......), but the event itself was canceled due to the declaration of a state of emergency.
Less than two years later, Sudern will finally take the podium as he was originally scheduled to do!
The Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra's popular repertoire includes many works by Richard Strauss (RS). Many of RS's compositions are rich in scale, and many of them provide opportunities for the horns to be heard. RS's horns shine brightly in large orchestras, not to mention in the two horn concertos.
This year's concert featured an array of masterpieces by the RS, in which the horns played a major role. Sudern himself was a horn player in his youth. What better combination could there be?
What kind of sound will the master horn player Sudern bring to Naka no ZERO? We hope you will come to the venue on the day of the concert to find out. Titles omitted.
