Olomouc is a town in Moravia, located in what is now the eastern part of the Czech Republic.
The music collection of Karl Lichtenstein Castelkomo, who was bishop there, is a compilation of music used in chapels in the towns of Kroměříž and Olomouc between 1664 and 1695. More than 1,300 works by more than 100 musicians have been preserved here. The collection is an important document in the history of music, and is a precious reminder of the high level of musicianship of the 17th century.
The works featured in this exhibition are also of this high caliber. It is easy to imagine that this region was an important place for musicians to work, and that they must have engaged in friendly competition with each other.
Please come and enjoy this precious Moravian heritage and treasure with us. We are sincerely looking forward to seeing you at the exhibition. (Akatsu)

About the vocal ensemble Athonarite Coeur
A vocal ensemble founded by Makoto Akatsu while he was a student at Kunitachi College of Music. Over time, the members have changed, but the multi-generational members, from those who knew the ensemble when it was first established to those who have newly joined in support of its activities, practice with passion for the annual performance. Each time, they enjoy performing the many ideas that Akatsu has developed from his experiences in Europe. In recent years, Akatsu has been advocating "instrumentalists sing too! which Akatsu advocates, instrumentalists and instrument makers have also joined the group. The group has become more and more unique.
