Orchestra Canvas Tokyo (OCT) was launched in August 2020 as an open music community with no specific music organization as its parent organization. OCT aims to be a hub of value creation by providing a place where players with various knowledge, experiences, and ideas can interact with each other.
This year's program, under the direction of up-and-coming conductor Rino Yoshikazaki, will feature masterpieces by two leading Czech composers. The soloist for Dvořák's Cello Concerto will be Park Hyun-soo, who has experience in premiering Dvořák's works and recording his collections, and will present the simple yet rich world of Dvořák. Smetana's "My Homeland" will be presented uncut in a series of six symphonic poems, including "Moldau," which is often performed as a stand-alone work. Please enjoy OCT's Czech program at the end of the year.
