What is Percussion Garden?
Percussion Garden is a percussion ensemble group founded by young percussionists.
The group's purpose is to promote the percussion ensemble, and it performs a wide variety of music, from original percussion ensemble compositions to arrangements of orchestral pieces.
The group has performed on the kiosk stage of "La Folle Journée TOKYO" since before the group decided on its name.
The core members are all graduates of the Tokyo College of Music, and the aforementioned orchestral piece was arranged by Jun Sugawara, a specially-appointed professor at the college and former principal timpanist of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra.
The core members (Rina Saito, Ririki Sakaguchi, Naoki Okada, Yuna Futamura, and Yuka Yoshinaga) will be joined by Yui Ito and Shun Kota for this concert.
In addition, Takuma Ito will write a new work for this group. The world premiere will be given by Makoto Hondo on solo saxophone.
