New Symphonic Band

The 95th Regular Concert

2022/11/25(Fr.) 19:00 Starting

Nakano ZERO Main HallTokyo

Official https://www.shinkyo-wind.com/concert/index.html

The main program this time is L.V. Beethoven's "Symphony No. 8". Although it is one of his shortest symphonies and has a small orchestra, it is a "hidden masterpiece" that Beethoven himself loved the most. The bright and beautiful melody shows how happy he was in his love life at that time. Maestro Matsuda, the permanent conductor of this orchestra, will present his original arrangement of the overture to "Tannhäuser" by R. Wagner in coupling.

The first part of the program will feature the music of composer and timpanist J.B. Chance, who celebrated the 50th anniversary of his death, including "Symphony No. 2 for Winds and Percussion," his only composition for brass band, and "Elegy," a gentle but pathetic melody. The program will open with "Dedication Overture" by C. Williams, who studied under J.B. Chance, and will feature a lineup of original wind band compositions.

Pre-school children are not allowed to enter.
